ADMISSIONS

If you would like your child to start at Chantry Community Primary School, please contact the school office on 01474 350011 or email admissions@chantryprimary.co.uk and the school office will be able to advise you as to the availability of spaces within the school.  We will also be able to advise you on the application process.  Alternatively, you are more than welcome to  download the relevant admission forms above (In Year  or Nursery) and return it to the school.

IN YEAR ADMISSIONS

 

Please download and complete the In Year Admission form (IYAF) below and return it to the school office with the originals of the following documents:

  • Child’s birth certificate

  • Child’s passport (if they have one)

  • *Proof of address for parent and child

 

*Proof of address evidence should include:

For parent:

  • Signed Tenancy Agreement or Exchange of Contracts with a completion date.

  • Council Tax statement

  • Utility bill (dated within last three months)

  • Bank statement

  • Benefit letter or statement

 

For child:

  • Doctor/Hospital appointment letter in the child’s name

  • Savings account or bank statement in the child’s name

  • Child benefit statement

RECEPTION ADMISSION APPEALS 2025-2026

If your child is due to start Primary school in September 2026, you can appeal if you are refused a place at one of your preferred schools on National Offer Day (Thursday, 16 April 2026). You needed to submit your appeal before Tuesday, 19th May 2026 for it to be considered by Friday, 17th July 2026. Any appeals received after this time will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline, or where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.

For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.

INDEPENDENT CATERING

As the school’s catering provider, Independent Catering provides a freshly made lunch in our school kitchens using locally grown produce from the UK. Complementing the 3 choices of main meal and vegetables your child can supplement their lunch with a freshly prepared salad from the salad bar and a choice of 4 desserts.

Independent Catering has built a great reputation for delivering the best quality, freshly prepared, and seasonally influenced, truly locally sourced menus. Our hot meals are authentic and not from a jar or packet. Salads, bread, and desserts are produced each day using the very best fresh ingredients.

​

FOR YEAR 3, 4, 5 & 6 PUPILS

The cost of a 2 course lunch is only £2.58 including fresh bread and the 12-15 choice self serve salad bar.

We ensure healthy free school meals are universally available for those entitled to a free school lunch. The free lunch is equivalent to over £500, representing an amazing saving per child across the year.

Lunch is free for all pupils.

PARENT
PAY

ParentPay is the online payment service for schools and families. The system provides online payments, income management and dinner money administration for the school and catering team.

SCHOOL
UNIFORM

Our school uniform is a mixture of red and grey. Most items can be bought from high street shops.

​

The Chantry uniform is now available online from Mapac. Uniforms can be ordered and delivered to your home address or to the school. Please use the link below and follow the instructions on how to register:

Second hand uniform is always available. Please get in touch with the the school regarding this.

UNIFORM
  • Grey skirt/pinafore dress or tailored shorts or trousers (not jogging bottoms)

  • Red gingham checked or striped dress can be worn in the summer

  • White shirt or blouse

  • Red v neck cardigan/sweatshirt – with the Chantry logo or plain

  • White/black/grey socks or grey/black/red tights

 

Please note skirts should be an appropriate length and of a style which allows your child to sit comfortably on the floor. Plain black leggings are only permitted to be worn underneath a skirt or dress in extremely cold weather or for religious reasons. A long sleeved plain white top is permitted to be worn under a shirt for the same reasons above.

SCHOOL TIE
  • Reception to Year 3: Elastic tie

  • Year 4-6: Tie

PE KIT
  • Plain black shorts/ leggings or jogging bottoms 

  • T shirt in their house team colour

  • Trainers 

  • Their red school cardigan or sweatshirt

​​​

SWIMMING
  • Girls should wear a one piece swimming costume and bring a towel. 

  • Boys are to wear shorts/trunks and bring a towel.

  • All children are expected to change for PE lessons. 

  • It is acceptable for religious reasons to wear black leggings under shorts.

​​

FOOTWEAR
  • All children are required to wear plain black shoes. 

  • For health and safety reasons platform soles, high heels and open toe sandals are not permitted. 

  • Plain black boots with a low heel can be worn in the winter or when the weather is poor. 

  • If boots are worn, children will have to change into plain black shoes or trainers in the building.

 

JEWELLERY, HAIRSTYLES, MAKE UP & NAIL VARNISH
  • For health and safety reasons we do not allow jewellery in school. 

  • The exceptions to this rule are small studs in pierced ears and small objects of religious significance.

  • All jewellery should be removed for PE lessons. - Parents will be informed of PE days.

  • Taping over of earrings is not permitted. 

  • Teachers are not permitted to remove earrings.

 

  • Students with long hair must ensure that this does not impede their vision or provide a health and safety risk. 

  • Hair should be tied back with hair bands that are either plain black, white or red. #

 

  • Make up and nail varnish are not considered appropriate and students are not permitted to wear any products in school.

NON-COMPLIANCE

Should children arrive in school in incorrect uniform, they will be referred to the Health and Welfare Officer and if the items are available from our stock, will be asked to change. - A telephone call home will be made to inform parents.

​
